Teen Mom was no different. Teen Mom was no exception to MTV’s lack of authenticity when it came to reality shows. Following on from 16 and Pregnant, the show focused on the lives of young mothers after they had children. There was a lot of drama, arrests, and breakups; no one can deny that. It’s been suggested, however, that the producers would meticulously edit conversations to make them appear more dramatic than they were.

For couples challenges, this reality show wanted to pair attractive women with nerdy men. The geeks on the show were portrayed as socially awkward and unable to communicate with women, but this was not the case in real life. As it turned out, one of the guys on the show had a girlfriend back home. The show has also been accused of using actors to portray some of the contestants.
